History of the project
Our client had purchased the house in 1962. He had lived with the kitchen for so long, he really could not conceive of a change, even though he was tired of what he had.
Solution:
After having interviewed our client, we found that he had spent many summers teaching at Oxford and had spent many a fond afternoon in a 14th century Tudor inn. We based our designs of the kitchen on a representation of a modern Tudor kitchen. We even installed a sound system so he could listen to his favorite compact discs while sitting at the dining room table having tea.

Pre Existing Conditions:
What we had to work with was a kitchen that had not been remodeled for over 40 years. The dining room foundation had settled, leaving the door to the outside non operable. The wiring was all knob and tube. Walls where cracking and the keys holding the original plaster to the wall where failing.

What we did:
We stripped the kitchen down to the bare studs and leveled the dining room foundation. New wiring and plumbing where roughed in. New insulation and sheetrock was installed. And a very heavy texture was applied to the walls to give the effect of on old Tudor room. New hickory cabinets were installed along with all matched appliances. Hardwood floors, using random width planks, where installed to imitate the circa of the period. Close attention was given to the lighting to give the client ample illumination while cooking or reading. After all the appropriate inspections where signed off by the local building department, we released the project the the client.
Client comments:
"There was such a phenomenal transformation in my bathroom Jeff did, that I never considered anyone else to do my kitchen when the time came. The people at Big Sky Construction and Design far exceeded my expectations. Perhaps it was the combination of the design, the quality craftsmanship and the respect they showed me. They were neat, prompt, finished the project on time and came within budget. It is magnificent!"
