Big Sky Construction & Design is an Award Winning Residential Remodeling Design/Build Firm, established in 1986 and operated by Jeff and Carol Winn of San Jose, California. The Company has been recognized and awarded the "Big 50" lifetime achievement award for 2005 by Remodeling Magazine.

The high quality craftsmanship of our work, the level of service and the extraordinary care for our clients and their homes, is most evident in the number of referrals we receive from past clients. Our company's philosophy is to keep the client happy well after the completion of their project.

Big Sky Construction & Design is primarily a design/builder; uniquely qualified to take a project from conception to completion. Our projects include: second story additions, whole house makeovers, master bedroom suites, room additions, kitchens and bathrooms.

Anticipating change in the needs of our clients keeps our company service oriented. Doing business in the heart of Silicon Valley necessitates high tech methods of communication and information. We take full advantage of the internet and its communication capabilities. We were proud to be the first company of its kind in the South Bay area to publish a website on the World Wide Web in March of 1996.

We are active members of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, (NARI). Carol has been a President's Award winner and was honored during the NARI annual convention and exposition in Chicago, IL. Recipients were selected as outstanding representatives of the remodeling industry, surpassing the NARI standards of excellence.

Carol has been a National Board Representative, Regional Director of California and Vice Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee of NARI National. She also served as a Board of Director with NARI San Jose. As a past Community Service Vice President of NARI San Jose, she spearheaded the planting of over 14,000 trees for old forest growth in a Northern California Forest. Carol gives seminars for the homeowner at local home shows on "What to Expect When You're Remodeling". Jeff has served as Vice President of Education. He was responsible for seminars with nationally recognized authorities in the remodeling industry which were attended by professional contractors throughout the bay area.

Jeff's commitment to the environment has always been an important part the company's philosophy. We have a recycling and deconstruction policy that has reduced construction debris produced by remodeling by 85%. Saving the planet for future generations thru "Green Building" techniques is a paramount part of Big Sky's Mission Statement. He has been certified as a "Certified Green Building Professional". In addition he has worked with the County of Santa Clara's Integrated Waste Management Division to certify Big Sky Construction & Design as a Green Business, the first Remodeling Company in the valley.

We have all heard the remodeling "horror stories". We are committed to enhancing the professionalism and perception of the remodeling industry through continuing education, ethical conduct and sound business practices so that industry and community can achieve mutual benefit.
